Being a registered nurse I have more training in the non-conservative side of healthcare, however when my kiddos were babies I went a little "crunchy". I exclusively breastfed them both (yes even while I was working full time AND in nursing school full-time!) Then came my cloth diaper obsession and my family thought I fell off my rocker then. Around the same time I started organic gardening and making my baby food from my very own produce. My youngest never tasted commercial "baby food"- it was all grown and made by yours truly :)
Now my family is convinced I am crazy because I was recently introduced to doTERRA Essential oils by a very good friend of mine (who is also a nurse!). This little snippet from doTERRA's website sums up what an Essential oil is perfectly! "Essential oils are natural aromatic compounds found in the seeds, bark, stems, roots, flowers, and other parts of plants. They can be both beautifully and powerfully fragrant. If you have ever enjoyed the gift of a rose, a walk by a field of lavender, or the smell of fresh cut mint, you have experienced the aromatic qualities of essential oils."
Essential oils (aka EO's) have been used for their medicinal and therapeutic benefits throughout the history of mankind! I use doTERRA daily in my home, because as life with kids goes-especially very active boys, there is always a scraped knee, runny nose, or fever. I love being able to have some control over their health that does not include chemical laden medications or visits to the Doc. Let me end this post with a more personal "hello"
